 Audi A5  Audi AI: Trail quattro concept Audi RS 6 Avant Audi RS 7 Sportback Audi RS Q3 Sportback. Audi's latest high-performance RS 7 Sportback and RS 6 Avant estate both debuted in Frankfurt. Both features improved styling from the German brand's aggressive RS, and both are powered by a new version of the same Volkswagen Group's twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine found in the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga. . . P A fourth 'AI' branded concept from Audi - the all-electric Audi AI: TRAIL quattro - was also revealed, showing what future Audi SUVs could look like. It is built from a combination of high-tensile steel, aluminum and carbon fibre, and has an all-electric, all-wheel-drive powertrain that produces 429bhp and 1,000Nm of torque.
Audi also unveiled a new special performance SUV called the RS Q3 Sportback. Like all Audi "RS" models, it also gets an aggressive cosmetic overhaul, with new bumpers, larger alloys and the brand's trademark oval exhaust.

BMW Concept 4 BMW i Hydrogen NEXT BMW Vision M Next  BMW X6. The next BMW 4 Series was previewed at the show with the Concept 4 - and BMW says the production variant will look 85 percent like the prototype when it arrives in 2020. The German brand also revealed its plans to drop the 4 Series from the 3. --.series series, for which it currently shares its core points. Based on the new X5, it has a range of petrol and diesel engines with the most powerful being the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 524bhp and 750Nm of torque.
The BMW i Hydrogen NEXT was also wrapped up. It's a hydrogen-electric SUV, built using the same body-in-white as the X5, previewing BMW's future eco-conscious lineup. Developed in collaboration with Toyota, Hydrogen Next's powertrain has been undergoing real-world testing since 2015.

Startup Chinese EV manufacturer, Byton, has launched an all-new, all-electric SUV in Frankfurt with a maximum WLTP-certified range of 286 miles. When it goes on sale in Europe in 2021, it will be offered with a choice of rear or four-wheel drive powertrains with respective outputs of 268bhp and 402bhp. The rear-wheel drive version claims a 0-62 mph time of 7.5 seconds, while the four-wheel drive variant manages the same sprint in 5.5 seconds. Top speed is 118bhp for both versions. Byte also says that the M-Byte will be offered with 100kW fast charging as standard, which promises to deliver an 80 percent charge in around 35 minutes. Prices are expected to start from €45,000 (£40,000).

The production-ready version of Honda's retro-styled all-electric city car was launched in Frankfurt. Due to go on sale in early 2020, the most powerful version will have a water-cooled 35.5kWh battery pack, a 152bhp electric motor and a WLTP-certified range of 125 miles. Unlike most compact EVs, the Honda E's motor is mounted on the rear axle and sends its power to the rear wheels, which the Japanese firm claims provides a perfect 50:50 balance of handling and weight. . . Lamborghini has unveiled its first hybrid model, called the Cyan. Based on the Aventador, it features a rebadged version of Lamborghini's naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine and an electric motor, producing a combined output of 808bhp. The electric motor is powered by a supercapacitor instead of a traditional battery, which Lamborghini claims is three times more powerful than a lithium-ion battery of the same weight.
